    Easter Monday - Dyngus Day -
    Dyngus Day, also spelled Dingus Day, is a fun Polish Holiday.  It is
    very popular in Poland, and in Polish communities across America. After the
    long Lenten holiday, Dyngus Day is a day of fun. And, perhaps a little romantic
    fun. It is always celebrated on the Monday after Easter.

    Dyngus Day Tradition:

    There are all sort of ways for boys to meet girls. But, this one takes the
    cake.

    Guys, on this day you get to wet the ladies down. Sprinkling or drenching
    with water is your goal. Chase after the ladies with squirt guns, buckets,
    or other containers of water. The more bold and gallant boys, may choose
    to use cologne. Hitting (gently, please) the ladies on the legs with switches
    or pussy willows is also common.

    Yes ladies, you can strike back. Ladies , you get your revenge on Tuesday,
    when tradition has it that you throw dishes or crockery back at the boys.
    It has become increasingly popular for the ladies to get their revenge on
    Monday, tossing water back at the boys.

    Note: Dyngus Day is also called Wet Easter Monday. Hmmmmm, I wonder
    why!?

    Origin of Dyngus Day:

    When exploring the roots of Dyngus Day, Historians point to the baptism of
    Polish Prince Mieszko I in 966 A.D. Baptism with water signifies cleansing,
    fertility, and purification.

    Somewhere along the way, the tradition of tossing water on the girls and
    hitting them with pussy willows evolved.

  • Town Planner Heroes Program | Military, Veterans, Business, Heroes
    Posted by Town Planner in Middle Tennessee

    Town Planner Heroes Program - National publication, Town Planner, is looking to give back. Our publication has been serving communities across the US for 28 years. In anticipation of our 30th anniversary, we are introducing Town Planner Heroes for military vets and their families.

    At Town Planner, we appreciate the past 28 years of publishing success we have had. We feel grateful. We appreciate the liberties we have had along the way to build this business. Now it’s our turn to help our friends in the military who have protected our rights during our growth and development. We intend to provide both the opportunity and the mentoring to 30 good men or women looking for a business to own and operate. This program will expire upon issuance of the 30th Franchise or publication of our 2016 30th Anniversary calendar, whichever comes first.

    Applicants who are awarded Town Planner Franchises will be offered the same franchise documents, rights and responsibilities as all other applicants under our current Franchise Program. Following is the criteria Town Planner Heroes applicants must meet to be awarded a Town Planner Franchise as excerpted from our actual franchise documents:

    For a franchisee that is approved by us for participation in our Veterans Program, we will waive the initial franchise fee of $25,000 for the initial 40,000 households. All other fees would apply including, for instance, additional charges for additional households. This waiver is being implemented in recognition of the 2016 Town Planner calendar being our 30th calendar edition and the program will apply only until the waiver is granted to 30 veterans or we publish our 2016 calendar, whichever is earlier.

    The requirements for you to receive this waiver under the Veterans Program are determined by our policies as periodically adopted by us. Under the Veterans Program policy as in effect as of the date of this disclosure document, in order for you to participate in the Veteran Program we require you:

    (a) submit an application specified by us;
    (b) have received and must document to us an honorable discharge from any branch of the US military service post 9/11;
    (c) have and demonstrate to us a set of skills satisfactory to us, that you can run your own business;
    (d) provide us with a credit history satisfactory to us;
    (e) attend, at your expense, a personal interview with us in the Cleveland, Ohio area;
    (f) agree to allow us to use your photo and name in our promotional literature; and
    (g) sign a Veteran Addendum in the form of Exhibit I

    Also, this waiver will not apply to a veteran represented by a broker or a similar agent, but in that case, you may be eligible for a 10% discount.

    Posted by Town Planner in Middle Tennessee

    Earth Day - Earth Day’s 45th anniversary - could be the most exciting year in environmental history. The year in which economic growth and sustainability join hands. The year in which world leaders finally pass a binding climate change treaty. The year in which citizens and organizations divest from fossil fuels and put their money into renewable energy solutions. These are tough issues but we know what’s at stake is the future of our planet and the survival of life on earth. On Earth Day we need you to take a stand so that together, we can show the world a new direction. It’s our turn to lead. So our world leaders can follow by example.

    (a) submit an application specified by us;
    (b) have received and must document to us an honorable discharge from any branch of the US military service post 9/11;
    (c) have and demonstrate to us a set of skills satisfactory to us, that you can run your own business;
    (d) provide us with a credit history satisfactory to us;
    (e) attend, at your expense, a personal interview with us in the Cleveland, Ohio area;
