A play by: Noel Coward Presented through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc One of Broadway's most revived, and most popular plays, Private Lives, is the dazzling, irresistible comedy that author Noel Coward is best known for. We are thrilled to add this show to our 2015 offerings. A tantalizing look at love, loathing, and lust, this show is a must-see!

A 1930 comedy of manners, Private Lives focuses on a divorced couple who, while honeymooning with their new spouses, discover that they are staying in adjacent rooms at the same hotel. Despite a perpetually stormy relationship, they realize that they still have feelings for each other.

  • Saturn at Opposition at Conway Observatory at Buckley Homestead in Lowell | 9:00pm - 11:30pm | Special Interest, Astronomy
Saturn at Opposition at Conway Observatory at Buckley Homestead in Lowell - Saturn should be visible during the CAS sponsored event on May 23 when Saturn is almost directly opposite the Sun. The solar system is lined up so that Saturn, the Earth and the Sun form a straight line with the Earth in the middle. The public is invited to join CAS volunteers as they guide visitors in the use of telescopes and astronomical binoculars. Facilities, including access to the big telescope, are wheelchair accessible.

Please park in the designated visitor parking area. Because observing is conducted in a “lights-out” environment, parents are requested to keep their children under close supervision. Do not use standard flashlights in the observing area. Exposure to white light, even briefly, will seriously impair night vision making observing difficult. Red-filtered flashlights can provide illumination without affecting night vision. You can make a red light by cutting off the end a red balloon and putting it over a standard flashlight.

Of Special Note: Observing with telescopes is contingent upon clear weather. Cloudy or inclement weather conditions may cause programs to be cancelled without advance notification. It is suggested that you call the CAS InfoLine, 1-773-639-5491, for updated weather conditions before heading to the event. See http://www.casonline.org for more information.

  • Caregiver Support Group-Franciscan St. Margaret Health - Dyer | 2:00pm - 3:30pm | Meeting, Support Group
Caregiver Support Group-Franciscan St. Margaret Health - Dyer - Caring for a family member or friend is not easy, nor is it something most of us are prepared to do. Like most people, you may have questions about your family member or friend’s illness or condition. If you have a job and are juggling several responsibilities or if your family member or friend requires a lot of assistance, you may need help providing care for them.
Many caregivers feel alone, helpless, confused, unprepared and unable to provide for the needs of their family member or friend. Learn about being a caregiver so that you feel supported and more comfortable with your role.

This support group encompasses Alzheimer’s / Dementia, Cancer, Stroke or other adult care responsibilities and is open to family and friends looking for compassion and information sharing. We embrace the premise of “Honor thy Father and thy Mother”. We are affiliated with Alzheimer’s Services of Northern Indiana who provide services such as 24 hour hotline, grants, and specialty workshops that are held periodically at the Main Lake County library.

We meet every fourth Sunday at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer, West entrance (behind St. Francis statue off Rt. 30 entrance) at 2:00 p.m. and the sessions last 1 ½ hour.

Facilitators Jim & Pat Koeling can be contacted at 219-365-3898 or (toll free) 1-888-333-0180 for more information.
