  • | All Day | Charity, Fundraiser, Patriot, Brunch, Prompt< Ambulance
    - Strike up the band as we conclude Patriot Week 2015 with a brunch dedicated to the red, white and blue from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Maki Ballroom at the historic Lake Court House in downtown Crown Point.

This year’s brunch will honor husband-and-wife duo Gary and Shar Miller, who own and operate Prompt Ambulance, which is headquartered in Highland.

The company is the largest ambulance service in Northwest Indiana, employing 700 emergency medical technicians, paramedics, support staff and managers who work tirelessly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year providing state-of-the-art patient care to those who are ill or injured.

The couple, along with their staff. support nearly two dozen charities, including: March of Dimes, Hospice of the Calumet Area, Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross.

“Gary and Shar Miller are patriots through and through,” Lake Court House Foundation President Marty Wheeler said. “Wherever there is chaos – whether that is natural or manmade – Gary and Shar don’t just volunteer; they jump in and help wherever they can for as long as they are needed. From Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy to the Gulf oil spill, Prompt paramedics and ambulances have been there to help. Their generous philanthropy enrich the lives of the community that is Northwest Indiana.”

The brunch is open to the public and features prime rib carving stations, customized omelette stations, savory chicken crepes, mini pastries, muffins, scones and other brunch offerings. Bloody Mary-Mimosa bar rounds out the afternoon as well as the usual suspects – coffee, tea and juice.

A $100 donation reserves your seat. Proceeds benefit the Lake Court House Foundation. Call the foundation office at (219) 663-0660 or log onto brownpapertickets.com/2080944 to reserve your seat today!

    - Each week we will highlight a different farm animal here at Culver's of Schererville to show out thanks for all that our local Farmers and 4H programs do for our community!
On the below listed dates we will feature live animals from 5-7pm along with a variety of scheduled activities, games, and prizes. Donations will be accepted, and 100% of collections will go directly to support our local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter. Additionally, Scoopie will be here, and we will have representatives from our local 4H Club available to hand out frozen custard & cheese curd samples, mingle with guests, and ask/answer trivia questions!
Come out and have some fun while supporting a GREAT cause!

    Scheduled events:
    Wednesday, 9/2-Featured animal-Goats/Sheep
    Thursday, 9/10-Featured animal-Pigs
    Thursday, 9/24-Featured animal-Cows

In addition to our planned weekly events, please join us on Saturday, September 19th from 11am-3pm for our Grand Thank You Farmers Celebration.
    YOUR MEAL MATTERS!
10% of all sales for the day will go to empower and strengthen the next generation of America's Farmers!
On this date, we will feature RED & GREEN tractors-vote for your favorite one for a chance to win dinner for four! We will also have a Petting Zoo, Pedal Tractor Races and lots of fun games and activities for the whole family to enjoy!
