    - While our Kentucky friends may not know the Scudder Family, the event is a good one and promises to be fun along with helping this family in need.

Julie Scudder has been a longtime fixture at Gene Brown Elementary. She is the heart of our school. When the heart is in pain, the rest of us want to do anything we can to help. We want to invite everyone to help this family who has helped so many of us through the years.

At the end of the 2015-2016 school year, Julie got the call no one ever wants to receive. Her son, Kaylor was in the hospital. After days of searching, the doctors discovered Kaylor had brain cancer. During those days at the hospital, Kaylor turned 26. He, like all people of that age, was no longer allowed to be on his parents insurance. Julie and Richard are now paying for COBRA insurance and Kaylor's medical treatment.

This benefit night is to raise money to help the Scudder family with insurance premiums, medical treatment, and hospital bills.

  • - October 1, 1932 in the fifth inning of game three of the 1932 World Series, with a count of two balls and two strikes, Babe Ruth pointed to the center field bleachers in Chicago's Wrigley Field and followed up by hitting a soaring home run high above the very spot to which he had just gestured. Did he really call his shot? Some Disagree, some eyewitnesses and Cubs pitcher Charlie Root believe he did not. Even Babe Ruth's Daughter said that he denied it, but Babe himself also claimed he did it.
