    On Saturday, May 07, 2016, festivities kick off bright and early with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K Run beginning at 8:00 a.m. The kids’ Fun Run takes place alongside LP Field and starts immediately following the completion of the 5K.     - The 30th Annual Strawberry Stride is a 5K race that supports athletes at Portland High School. The event starts and ends at Portland High School. The race is relatively flat with only a slight elevation during the first 1/4 mile and on the last part of the race. Race time is 8am for the 5K and 1 mile races. A Kids Fun Run, about 1/4 of a mile race, starts at 9:00am. 5K race categories start at 10 years of age and increase in 5 year increments. 1 mile race age groups are middle school, high school and adult. The Fun Runs are Pre-K/K through 5th grade.

    The races are one part of an all day community event, The Strawberry Festival, which culminates in a parade later in the afternoon.
