    - Silver Lk Ski Show 6:30- 8:30 Every Tues Evening
Show is FREE! There is an entry fee for the park SilverLakeSkiClub.com Ski to live. Live
to ski. Company Overview Since 1960 skiers have been entertaining the local community with free ski shows at SILVER LAKE PARK and competing in show-ski tournaments. Silver Lake Ski Club has been one of the most successful competitive ski teams in the nation accumulating a number of regional and state championships and placing as high as third in national tournaments. A number of our skiers have gone on to ski professionally and routinely give of their time to build and coach our younger skiers. We invite you to join us at our FREE ski shows throughout the summer and if you're interested in skiing we'd love to have you join our team. Skiing experience is great but we love to teach anyone wishing to ski. Description WHAT IS SHOW SKIING??? Show skiing has been called the most entertaining discipline in the sport of water skiing. It is fast-moving, exciting, graceful, and most of all, fun to watch. Virtually all aspects of the sport including barefooting, jumping,
slalom, pyramids, tricks and knee boarding are choreographed into one grand performance. In its simplest form, show skiing involves a group of skiers performing a variety of acts with the primary objective of providing entertainment. Even at the most advanced and technically difficult levels (professional shows such as Cypress Gardens and Sea World), the basic format and entertainment concepts remain the same.

  • | 2:30pm - 3:15pm | Seniors, Retirement, Chair Chi, Tai Chi, exercise
    - Though TAI CHI is ancient Asian Warrior tradition, modern-day research tells us it decreases stress and helps put arthritis pain at bay. Using finely tuned artistic movement patterns, it develops mind-body awareness while improving balance and posture. It’s calming and meditative nature proves extremely low impact, which means it’s gentle on joints and the fluid motions help improve circulation and restore joint mobility. While one would expect to find flexibility and relaxation, the purposefully slow movements also build a surprising amount of muscular endurance and coordination.

Instructor Leah Tanton challenges everyone to try it at least once, “Your first class is free, so what do you have to lose?” With a master’s degree in Exercise Science, author of original research conducted with seniors in collaboration with the National Institute of Health, Certified Chair Chi Instructor, and 20+ years experience working with seniors, spinal cord injuries, and debilitating diseases, Leah says she is shocked at how easily adaptable Tai Chi is to all fitness levels. Where traditional Tai Chi requires a significant amount of balance and mobility to complete, the newly adopted Chair Chi (2:30 Mondays & Wednesdays at Loose) still provides benefits to able-body individuals, but is designed specifically for individuals with severe mobility and balance impairments.
