    - This war is also known as the First World War or the Great War. It was a global war originating in Europe that began on July 28th,1914 and lasted until November 11th,1918. The assignation of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife by a Serbian nationalist is what provoked this war. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, which was the formal beginning of the war.

Credited with creating the sandwich is Girl Scout Loretta Crew, her recipe for 'Some Mores' was published in 'Tramping and Trailing With The Girl Scouts'.
