  • | 6:30pm - 9:30pm | Arts and Entertainment, Emily Minor, Downtown Monroe, NC, Indian Trail
    - Standing at a mere 4’ 11’ and weighing 100 lbs. soaking wet, Emily Minor is like a surprise at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box. Dubbed “a modern day Brenda Lee,” she’s a “Little Miss
    Dynamite.”
Raised in a suburban area of Wilmington, NC, Emily Minor is an action-oriented, go-getter with intentional direction and absolutely no ceiling. She’s a “never-say-never,” no-quitter with the natural-born ability to shine in the limelight.
From Merle to Madonna, Emily’s musical influences travel from one end of the entertainment spectrum to another, but she clearly draws from the storylines and sounds of the 90's.

“I like to incorporate the classic country sounds in my music. I like to write and perform up-beat, ‘turn-it-up-loud’ tunes, but am also drawn to writing a contemplative song that inspires. Naturally, I seem to write about emotions and thought-provoking topics. Writing is a vulnerable and raw place; you're putting yourself out there for the world to see. ”

“I think I have an old soul. When I write, my goal is not to come up with a product that is trendy, but that is relevant and remains true to my heart.”
"Emily Minor is not a copycat artist; she's not trying to 'fit in' to be popular with what's trending in the format,” producer Scott Trayer introduces. “Her music isn't watered down; it fills the void for those who are craving music with substance. Her passion for truthful and meaningful lyrical content and musical texture runs deep."

    - This war is also known as the First World War or the Great War. It was a global war originating in Europe that began on July 28th,1914 and lasted until November 11th,1918. The assignation of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife by a Serbian nationalist is what provoked this war. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, which was the formal beginning of the war.

    - The Club is dancing every Friday night at the Waxhaw American Legion Hall. The doors open at 7 PM and lessons start around 7:30 PM for approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Open dancing follows until close.

We teach a new dance (sometimes two) every week. The new dance is then reviewed for two more weeks for a total of three weeks at which time the dance goes into rotation for our open dance session. Of course if it is a more difficult dance or our dancers need more instruction, we will continue to review it until we feel ready to add it to our open dance repertoire. We encourage our dancers to speak up during the lesson if anyone has a question about the step(s) or having difficulty with any portion of the dance to ensure everyone has a good time and doesn't get frustrated. Remember, there are no silly questions and we are all here to help each other.

Member - $20.00 per person monthly membership dues (paid on the first Friday of the month) entitles member to all Friday night dances during that month.

Associate Member - $12.00 per person monthly associate member dues (paid on the first, second, or third Friday of the month) entitles associate member to two Friday night dances in the same month that dues are paid.
