    - This exhibition features a private collection of approximately 30 examples of early Newcomb Pottery within the dining room of the Log House—Gustav Stickley’s own home, which he not only designed, but also built and lived in from 1910-1917. The exhibition highlights the work of a dozen different designers from Newcomb Pottery, which was founded in 1895 as part of the H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, the women’s coordinate of Tulane University in New Orleans. This exhibition will complement the nearby Princeton University Art Museum exhibition Women, Art, and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise (May 7 to July 10, 2016).

    The exhibition will be on view during all tours of the Log House, which depart Thursday-Sunday at 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15, and Special Interest Tours will provide an opportunity for in-depth exploration of the exhibition.

    - In honor of the rich history of Newcomb Pottery, which originated at Tulane University in New Orleans, the Stickley Museum will host NOLA Night on Saturday, June 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., a party celebrating the singular tastes and sounds of the Big Easy. The evening will feature live jazz, Cajun-style heavy hors d’oeuvres, signature NOLA cocktails, and the museum’s special exhibition: Early Newcomb Pottery from the Barbara and Henry Fuldner Collection. Masks and beads will be provided!

    Before the party starts, guests who upgrade to the VIP package will be treated to an exclusive Inside the Exhibition panel discussion, featuring Barbara Fuldner, Marilee Meyer and Adrienne Spinozzi. The panel will provide an in-depth look into the development of the collection, the genesis of the exhibition, and the history and legacy of Newcomb Pottery.     - The Dancing for Parkinson’s program offers free weekly dance classes to individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. Individuals with Parkinson's are encouraged to remain active. The class is designed to encourage and develop coordination, musicality, spatial awareness, creativity and technique. The dance class facilitates cognitive stimulation and social interaction, while also focusing on stability and gait.

    The class begins seated and participants are guided through a progressive warm-up and a series of sequences that encompass the principals and qualities of dance. The class advances to standing for those who feel comfortable. For those not comfortable or able to stand, seated modification for each exercise is provided.

    The class follows the Dance for PD model, which was founded in Brooklyn in collaboration between the Brooklyn Parkinson's Group and the Mark Morris Dance Group. David Tamaki is the instructor for the program and is trained in the Dance for PD method and is a recipient of the Stanley J. Wertheimer Fellowship Program, which provides continued development and mentorship to qualified instructors.
