    - The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

  • | 12:00pm - 4:00pm | Sports and Recreation, Beer Mile Run
    - The Mother of All Beer Miles will be back for a second year! Our mothers were just as mad as yours were that we were drinking and running instead of celebrating them last year on Mother’s Day so we moved it one week later! They will be so proud of us for our mature decisions! Come on out and see if you can top last years 6:58.19 top time!

Here is how the event works: Each athlete will start by drinking (sipping, chugging, inhaling….your choice) a can of beer graciously provided by Atwater Brewery!! Then each athlete will complete a 400 meter lap on the track. Repeat this task (hopefully) four times! We will get your split times for each lap and each beer ( you know, so you can see where you need to train harder for next year.)

Take a break from the ultra competitive and enjoy a fun afternoon cheering on each other as we take part in this timeless (and hopeless) event.

(this is a 21 year and older event. ID’s are required when picking up your packet and when you show up for the event. We will be checking ID’s of ALL participants!)
