John D Spengler, Ph.D., is the Akira Yamaguchi Professor of Environmental Health and Human Habitation in the Exposure, Epidemiology and Risk Program, Depart of Environmental Health, at Harvard University's School of Public Health.
Prof. Spenglers research focuses on air pollution exposures and health effects both indoors and outdoors. He has served on several National Research Council committees, including chairing the Green Schools committee, and was recently an advisor to the World Health Organization on the health effects of dampness in buildings.
In 2003, Prof. Spengler received a Heinz Award for the Environment, honoring his effots to improve understanding of the impact of air pollution, particulary indoor air pollution, on human health.
