Get a chance to taste the most recent vintage and order your wine pre-release! Picazo is Livermore Valleys highest end producer. They said it could never be done, that Livermore could never produce wines that would challenge the all mighty Napa wines. Well, thanks to Mark Clarin and Picazo Vineyards, this feat has been met! The 2004 Picazo Merlot was their first release and topped out at $80.00 a bottle. Due to limited production of their innagural release, finding this wine in retail locations was hard to do!
I remember putting this merlot on a Super Premium Cabernet Tasting from Napa Valley in the earlier part of this year and people loved it. Sales wise, for being such a new production, it surpasses Twomey Merlot and Schafer. Thanks to Uncle Yu's in Livermore for pouring it by the glass, people were truly able to taste this beautiful wine and appreciate it for all its glory!
A bit about Mark! Great Guy! Really down to earth and not only is he talented on the winemaking front, but he loves to play with his band too. (go figure, artists, we never are happy in just one medium.
