LA Choral Foundation Spring Concert

This year, Les Petites Voix celebrates its 40th anniversary! For four decades our children’s choir has brought joy and singing to children throughout the Lake Charles area. It has been a long road with many wonderful concerts: Disney World, tours throughout the state, performances with the Lake Charles Symphony, and last year’s featured presentation of Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Symphony of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. This year we look forward to an exciting year of concerts including our Christmas Concert with the Masterworks Chorale, the LAKE Children’s Choir Festival, and a variety of community events!



For our special anniversary, we are inviting all Les Petites Voix alumni to sing with us on our spring concert on Friday, May 3. This will be a special reunion concert for all our alumni and directors! LPV’s former singers— children at heart of all ages—are invited to join us to sing in our concert in celebration of forty years of children’s music. Our director, Kari Proksch, is in her 17th year as the Artistic Director of Les Petites Voix. She has been a music educator for 21 years, and is currently the choir director at SJ Welsh Middle School. She is an experienced teacher of all levels of music education beginning with pre-k students and continuing through graduate level Kodály training course students. Kari received a Diploma in Music Pedagogy from the Franz Liszt Academy Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Hungary. Mrs. Proksch also earned a Masters degree in Music Education from McNeese State University with a Kodály certification.
