More About 13th Annual Get Down & Derby Gala

– The 13th Annual Get Down & Derby Gala, sponsored by
the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & the Mid-South, will be held Saturday,
May 4th, 2024, in conjunction with the celebration of the 150th Kentucky Derby which
will be live streamed at the event. The gala is a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome
Association of Memphis and is open to the public. Doors open at 4pm. Derby attire
welcome! There will be dancing & entertainment, featuring the Rob Haynes Band, and
special appearance by Company d Dancers, silent & live auctions, a wine pull, bourbon
pull, and a fancy hat parade. Cocktails & Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Tickets may
be purchased online or at the event, and are available at a discounted price through
April 1st
.
All proceeds go to the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & the Midsouth, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and empower those with
Down syndrome. It offers programs and assistance to individuals with Down syndrome
and their families, as well as to educators within the city.
To get involved, anyone can purchase tickets to attend the event, be a sponsor of the
Get Down & Derby gala, bid on the online auction, or donate directly. No matter how
you choose to participate, all proceeds go towards our overall goal of furthering the
programs at the DSAM and creating awareness within our community.
