    Become A Utah Water Watch Volunteer 

    Utah Water Watch (UWW) is a public water quality monitoring program. Our goal is to empower the public to learn and share knowledge about their local watersheds and practice good stewardship. Data collected is shared in a public database and with local water managers.

    Utah Water Watch is a free program and is open to volunteers of all ages.
    Volunteering is a fun way to learn more about water quality and help protect lakes and streams in Utah.

    There are 3 steps you need to take in order to become a volunteer:

    1.Fill out the volunteer registration form

    2. Attend a workshop and become certified

    3. Work with the coordinator to choose a site to monitor

         The USU Spring Runoff Conference is held nearly annually to provide a forum for interdisciplinary sharing and exchange of ideas on water-related issues in Utah and the Intermountain Region extending to all aspects of water science, ecology, policy, engineering, and management. The conference was held on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at the Eccles Conference Center at USU.

         The Utah Drought Information System is a user-interactive webpage developed from a BOR WaterSMART project that aims at providing historical and forecast drought-related data to state professionals. This great database can be found at the Utah Climate Center at Utah State University's website.

       Stream Side Science allows teachers to use FREE lesson plans specialized to help students of all ages learn more about watersheds, their important functions, and water pollution/quality.

       These lessons are hands-on and we provide the water quality monitoring equipment.
