OUR WORK

Kū Aloha Ola Mau (Kū Aloha) has served more than 13,000 persons dealing with substance and alcohol abuse and addiction since 1976. Our compassionate, holistic approach to recovery centers around each participant or “haumana” (student), with the belief that anyone can recover from addiction.  Our name means “stand lovingly and compassionately in everlasting life and health” describing our roots in spirituality and holistic approaches.

We have locations in Honolulu and Hilo, on Hawai’i Island. Approximately 400 persons are served daily.

Our haumana seek recovery from addictions to substances including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription drugs, alcohol, marijuana, or a combination of these drugs of abuse. We know that both addiction and recovery do not happen in isolation, and that family members, children and loved ones are also in need of healing and recovery. While addiction can destroy even the most successful of families, the recovery process can help to deepen family members’ strength and understanding.

Kū Aloha provides programs with staff that are creative, loving and committed. Research and state-of-the-art knowledge and interventions are combined with the wisdom of our culture to offer unique services to those seeking recovery and healing. Our team includes Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Physicians, RNs and LPNs, Marriage and Family Therapists, and volunteers from all walks of life.
