What we’re about
Meet others interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. Please check out our message board to see our meditation topics in previous weeks.
A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.
Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!
These group meetings are based out of Kadampa Meditation Center New York, located in Glen Spey, NY. For more information visit http://www.kadampanewyork.org
We hope to meet you soon!

April Series: Eight Habits for Happiness
Tonight’s topic: Deepening Our MeditationHappiness is a habit that can be trained. One of the most simple, potent, and accessible ways to do this is by training in loving-kindness. In this eight-week series, we will look at eight different loving-kindness meditations that will help us develop confidence, relax, and improve our relationships with friends, family, and coworkers. We will emphasize how to integrate these meditations into our daily activities. And we will feel empowered to use these practices throughout the rest of our life.
This course is based on the text Eight Steps to Happiness, which is a commentary to a thousand-year-old teaching called Eight Verses of Training the Mind –- a beloved, timeless set of instructions on how to train our mind. It is perfect for modern people, just as it was perfect for people many years ago.

April 8 • How to Train Our Mind
April 15 • Awakening The Heart
April 22 • Fearlessness
April 29 • Deepening Our Meditation
