The public is invited to pick up free wood chips on Saturday, May 16th 8
a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County
native-plant nursery at Blackwell Forest Preserve, 29W218 Mack Road in
West Chicago.

Individuals may bring vehicles no larger than a pickup truck to take
mulch. A District employee will be on hand with a tractor to help fill
trailers or truck beds. People who want smaller amounts should bring their
own containers. Each person can take no more than the equivalent of the
bed on a standard-sized pickup.

The nursery entrance is located on the south side of Mack Road about 0.5
mile east of Route 59. For more information, call 630-876-5920.

The District makes its own mulch from tree-trimming and brush-clearing
projects and uses it for trails and landscaping throughout the forest
preserves. When is has more mulch than it needs for a season, it makes it
available to the public.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has been connecting people

preserves, 145 miles of trails, five education centers and scores of
