  • | 6:00pm - 7:30pm | Community and Civic Groups, Clubs, Elk Grove event, paws on patrol, neighborhood watch, community, meeting
    - Our new pet project, Paws on Patrol, officially kicked off in February. Based on the success of the Neighborhood Watch Program, we are using dog walkers to help sniff out suspicious activity. Paws on Patrol uses the dogs, and their human counterparts, to be an extra set of eyes, ears, and paws in fighting crime. Our ultimate goal is to make criminals realize that in Elk Grove, they are barking up the wrong tree.

Our next Paws on Patrol meeting will be on Thursday, April 27, at 6 PM, at the Elk Grove City Council Chambers (inside the EGPD, at 8400 Laguna Palms Way). At this meeting we will give a brief recap of Paws on Patrol for any new members, then feature a presentation by an Animal Services Officer on Doggy First Aid. This is a great class on what to do if your pooch runs into any problems. It is free to attend, and you do not need to RSVP.

Sorry, this meeting is for the human walkers only, and not the dogs.

    - The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.
