More About Mornings at the Museum

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana is hosting monthly sensory-friendly mornings. These offerings are exclusive to families of children with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) or sensory processing disorders. We limit the number of families who can attend, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment such as noise-reducing headphones and weighted vests.

The CMA is excited to share with you that thanks to a generous grant from the Stuller Family Foundation the Museum will continue providing you and your family special, private, and complimentary museum access through the “Mornings at the Museum” Program.

From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. every second Sunday for the next 12 months, the Museum will be open to families raising children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental differences so that you can enjoy the CMA in a comfortable environment.

A few adjustments are being made to the 2022-2023 Program to improve your family’s program experiences. This coming year sensory activities will be on offer at every session in the ReUSEum Exhibit. Additionally, the October, December, and April Programs will be holiday-themed special events curated especially for your kids!

We ask that you continue to register in advance since Program participation is limited to 15 families to keep the Museum from becoming overwhelming to attendees. This is a great time for children and families to play in our hands-on exhibits and enjoy learning in a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment.
