More About Shark Bayou Blast a Paddle Race
INCLUDES Finisher’s Medal, Prizes, lunch & bevs!
Shark Bayou Blast is the perfect event to bring your whole crew to enjoy the waterfront of Cypremort Point State Park. The course is a 10 mile loop and participants may complete 1 or 2 laps depending on their ability. Open to all human powered boats. Classes include:
Kayak/Surfski, SUP, Canoe/Out rigger, and Pedal.
Further division based on number of paddlers and gender.

Check-in & day of registration opens at 7:30a
Safety Briefing 8:45a
Start time: 9:00a
Lunch: 11:30a
Award ceremony 12:5p
Clear course: 2:00p

No boat? No Problem! visit Pack and Paddle for kayak and SUP rentals.
Mandatory Equipment List:
Suitable boat and paddle
Cell telephone in waterproof container
PFD Type I, II, III, or V (inflatable) – USCG approved. See Rule 12.
Audible signaling device (pealess type whistle or airhorn)
Adequate boat flotation to float while swamped
Recommended Equipment List:
Emergency Blanket – Mylar Foil Type
Mosquito repellant
Sunscreen
Sun glasses
Extra batteries for lights
Proper clothing including hat
Plenty of water and food
Rain gear
Multiple power sources for cell phone
White light or lights visible for 360 degrees.
One flashlight per paddler.
