WHY: Proceeds to benefit the Panorama Vista Preserve & increase awareness of the 129 acre habitat restoration project.

The Kern River Corridor Endowment and Covenant Coffee are sponsoring a Field n Dale Fun Run on Saturday, March 17st at 8:30 am at the Panorama Vista Preserve. The event, benefiting the Panorama Vista Preserve, will stage at the parking lot at 901 East Roberts Lane. It will feature a 6K and 12K run on trails through the Preserve and across the Kern River. The 12K run will continue up along the top of the bluff at Panorama Park, continuing back down before crossing the Carrier Canal, the Kern River and returning to the staging area.

Runners will receive a wicking t-shirt, raffle ticket, a gift card to Covenant Coffee and breakfast following the race. Covenant Coffee will also have available breakfast and deli items for non-runners at a nominal cost. Registrations can be made on line at, or by printing out the registration form on click for details and mailing it in. The cost of the run is $30 before March 8; late registration will be $40. Registrants can pick up their race packets at Covenant Coffee Friday, March 17th from 3pm-6:30 pm or the morning of the race until 8:15am. Late registrations will be accepted at Covenant Coffee until 8:15 the day of the race.

All proceeds will benefit the Panorama Vista Preserve, a 936 acre native habitat preserve on both sides of the Kern River below the Panorama bluffs. The Kern River Corridor Endowment, a 501 (c) (3) public benefit nonprofit organization owns and operates the Panorama Vista Preserve. Habitat restoration and education outreach are the primary goals for the Preserve. The KRCE is currently planting 27,000 native trees, bushes and vines, grown out from seeds and cuttings taken from the native plants on the Preserve. Many of these plants are grown in the on-site nursery.
