More About Arts in Concert

The Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, the IU Jacobs School of Music, and Bloomington Connect present ARTS IN CONCERT—a music series bringing together visual artists and musicians to exchange ideas through music and art.
This cross-disciplinary project intends for each visual artist to meet with musician(s) from the IU Jacobs School of Music to talk through their themes and styles. Through the ensuing dialogue, the musician(s) will then choose pieces to perform in the gallery with the curated artwork around them. Paul Daily, Artistic Director of the Ivy Tech Waldron, emphasized the importance of the dialogue between the two mediums. “As artists, we draw inspiration from one another. The collaboration here, between visual artists and musicians, is a challenge to converse and invigorate one another."
