Hamilton County Parks - Nature Play Days

Summer is here! Let’s get outside! Hamilton County Parks supports the Indiana Children and Nature Network’s (ICAN) efforts to get kids outside by hosting Nature Play Days in several of our parks the week of June 5th. Bring your kids to explore the parks, play on the playgrounds, and watch for wildlife. Bring a lunch and have a picnic if you like. Our staff will bring bubbles and other easy outdoor activities. Come and join the fun. Look for more Nature Play Days throughout the state at indianachildrenandnature.org.

Monday, June 5 at 10am: Cool Creek Park
(Meet at the nature play area)
Come and visit our Nature Play Area. This area features natural play elements in a shaded area. It is designed to encourage unstructured play in a natural setting.

Wednesday, June 7 at 10am: Geist Park
(Meet at the playground)
Visit the headwaters of Geist Reservoir on a peaceful hike along Fall Creek. We’ll watch for birds and turtles and check out the wetlands.

Thursday, June 8 at 10am: Strawtown Koteewi Park
(Meet on the front porch)
Come out and play games from the past with our Taylor Center of Natural History staff. Check out the mock dig site outside and explore.

Friday, June 9 at 10am: Potter’s Bridge
(Meet at the playground picnic table)
Walk across the historic covered bridge. Check out the river on a walk through the woods and play on the playground.
