About RE/MAX Realty Associates-Bill & Rachel Port

The story of Bill and Rachel Port…

It only makes sense to know the REALTOR your hire. Bill and Rachel Port have both been selling homes for over 25 years. Here is the story of how they met and created the Port Home Sales Team. Rachel Peers began her Real Estate career in 1993 with Century 21 Dabbs in Homewood, Illinois. Prior to becoming a REALTOR, Rachel worked in the financial industry. Rachel was a member of one of the first Mega-Broker Teams in the industry. As a member of that team, she quickly learned how to take care of her clients and close real estate transactions! Bill started his Real Estate career in 1994 after a number of years owning a carpentry construction and remodeling company on the North side of Chicago. Bill was an associate at Coldwell Banker & then joined the Top Real Estate office, Realty Executives in South Holland. This was a new Realty Executives office full of top-producing and energetic real estate brokers. In this environment, Port learned to provide top quality service and his business excelled quickly. In 1996, Bill Port and Rachel Peers met on the job while working at Realty Executives in South Holland, Illinois. At the time, Bill and Rachel were individually, two of the TOP Real Estate agents in the South Suburbs of Chicago, IL. While working within the same Real Estate brokerage, Bill and Rachel soon found a commonality in their values, work ethic and dedication to their clients. While at Realty Executives, their friendship grew into a romance. As two of the most powerful real estate agents in the area, it didn’t take long for them to soon combine their forces in both their personal and professional careers.

In the spring of 2000, Rachel and Bill were married and officially combined their real estate businesses. Back then, the internet was new to Real Estate. The Ports were at the forefront of combining the technological advances of website marketing along with the good old-fashioned service they had provided happy clients for years. The Ports were among the first individual Realtors to create their own branded website; www.PortHomeSales.com. That website has evolved dramatically over the years and today holds one of the strongest ranking positions for a local real estate website. Today the Ports use professional photos and videos to enhance their marketing on social media websites like Facebook and YouTube.

As the Port’s business grew, they started to encompass a greater share of the Northwest Indiana real estate market. In 2001 Rachel and Bill moved their main operations to RE/MAX of Indiana in Highland. As RE/MAX Brokers, the Ports have held offices in Highland, Hammond, Schererville, and currently work from their base office, RE/MAX Realty Associates in Munster, Indiana.

Today, the Ports continue to sell homes in both Indiana and Illinois. They have built a team of real estate agents and support staff to better serve their clients and to reach a larger service area. For the past three years, the Port Home Sales Team has ranked as #1 RE/MAX real estate sales team in Northwest Indiana. All members of the Port team are licensed in both Indiana and Illinois. Their service area extends from the North side of Chicago to Lowell, Indiana. If you are considering buying or selling a home within an hour’s drive from Munster, Indiana or South Holland, IL the Ports are ready to go to work for you!
