The Burns Harbor Food Truck Square premiered in 2014. The event is organized in partnership The Town of Burns Harbor and The Duneland Chamber of Commerce. The Burns Harbor Food Truck Square is located at the former site of the Westport Community Club, off of Rt. 149. The European Market runs every consecutive Wednesday evening, beginning on May 30th through Wednesday, September 12th. The market hours are 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Market attracts merchants selling a broad array of goods, including ethnic and gourmet foods, baked goods such as artisan breads and pastries, spices, organic produce, fresh flowers, produce from local farmers and orchards, rare books, cheeses, handmade soaps, lotions and oils, jewelry, candles, pottery, clothing and fashion accessories, toys, fine art, pet products and much more. Our Market management team is committed to providing the best customer and merchant experience available while maintaining a professional and organized artisan’s market.

A program formed within the Burns Harbors community which features regional eateries and family-friendly entertainment uniquely together for all visitors. Burns Harbor recently accepted a proposal by the Duneland Chamber of Commerce to create a partnership that will bring their European Market on the road to the Burns Harbor Food Truck Square!

Camaraderie and community engagement has been the overall goal for the Town of Burns Harbor and the development of the Food Truck Square.

Burns Harbor has recently expanded the Food Truck Square to include themed Wednesday events (along with free themed family entertainment, free admission, bounce houses, food trucks and live music) and some themed Saturday events too. The Food Truck Square runs each Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. located at 1237 Westport Rd. — at the corner of Haglund and Westport roads, just off of S.R. 149.

Every Wednesday evening, attendees can expect a variety of two to three food trucks to choose from, offering different cuisines and at least two food trucks offering a variety of sweet treats. Each event varies and can provide attendees with anything from craft vendors to classic cars, graffiti art to free face painting, cocktails and more.

Recently the Arts on the Square event featured local graffiti artist Cas Perez, whom created a masterpiece with attendees using spray paint. The spray-painted canvases now serve as gateway signage near the Food Truck Square. The event also featured a variety of the region’s most popular craft vendors and live music by Johnny V.

Classic cars also recently lined the square during the recent Better Burns Harbor: Cars Night Out. This highly attended event was sponsored by local dealerships, including Lake Shore Motors and Bosak Chevrolet of Burns Harbor. The event was also captured by drone videographer Brandon Clair of Timeless Aerial Photography, click for details

The Food Truck Square will continue to provide attendees with a variety of Northwest Indiana’s most popular food trucks throughout the summer season and into the fall, including: The Rolling Stone Breaker, King of The Road, Bills Grill, Sizzlebox, Redemak’s, Dogs and Hogs, Lulu’s Licks, Jodis Italian Ice, Chunky Tacos and more. All are welcome to attend this unique gathering space filled with great eats, entertainment, artisans and family fun.

Interested food trucks/vendors or sponsors may contact Councilman Marcus Rogala at mrogala@burnsharbor-in.gov or 219-406-3272. For vendor applications and sponsorship sign-up forms, click for details

More About this Event Poster: Duneland Chamber of Commerce

Nestled in the heart of the Indiana Dunes on the southern shore of Lake Michigan lies the Duneland community. Comprised of the five unique towns of Beverly Shores, Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Dune Acres and Porter, this area offers dynamic natural beauty, warm hospitality and plenty of opportunities to enjoy meaningful ecological, educational and cultural experiences.

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce serves over 475 members and holds as its main objective the facilitation of the interests of the Duneland community. By hosting more than 100 community and networking events each year, producing a quarterly magazine and offering the prolific Residential Welcome Bag Program, the Chamber seeks to enrich the lives of area residents and ensure the economic vitality of our Duneland community.

Initiatives such as Chesterton's European Market, Party in the Park, Fireworks on the Lakefront, Chamber Network Night, Speed Networking gatherings and Sunrise Seminars provide a wealth of community building and networking opportunities for both Chamber and community members. These events are augmented by the Chamber's commitment to smart, sustainable economic growth and community cohesion.

In addition to a varied palette of events and programming, the Duneland Chamber of Commerce offers its members a robust package of advertising opportunities, including a new double-sided electronic billboard located at the gateway to Chesterton along Highway 49. Architecturally reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement of the turn of the last century, the Chamber's Welcome Sign is not only an attractive advertising opportunity for Chamber members, but also a beautiful greeting for tourists entering Duneland.
