On Saturday, September 14, DFCU Financial will offer residents the opportunity to have their paper records and data storage materials shredded and recycled during the Community Shred Day at the Clinton Township branch at 17280 Hall Road Clinton Township, MI 48038.

This free event aims to raise public awareness of the need to securely destroy confidential materials to prevent identity theft and fraud, as well as to encourage recycling.

Materials will be collected on September from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in front of the credit union (entrance off Partridge Creek Drive at Hall Rd.).

The drop-off event is open to the public. There is a maximum of 5 boxes/bags limit per vehicle. For additional information, please contact Peggy Richard, or by calling 313.322.8239.

Acceptable items for shredding:

Bank statements
Forms (medical, insurance, tax, other)
Old checkbooks
Unwanted/Expired credit cards
Junk mail
File folders and binders
All envelopes
