More About Live on the Plaza

Join us on the beautiful Cleo Rogers Memorial Library Plaza for this annual event! Bring your lawn chair, pack a picnic and have fun!

Hanna Benn is a vocalist and composer whose work brings in theatrical elements and collaborators to create new sonic landscapes, leading The Stranger to dub her “the American Björk.” Deantoni Parks is an avant-garde percussionist, writer and producer who has contributed his talents to KUDU, The Mars Volta and Bosnian Rainbows, among others. Together, Benn and Parks have created a song cycle that explores spiritual music, combining and juxtaposing Benn’s airy vocals with Parks’ intricate rhythms to construct a “sanctuary of sound” (Pitchfork).

Live on the Plaza celebrates and engages the community with a live outdoor summer concert featuring nationally-recognized talent. The event is free to attend thanks to the generous sponsorship of the City of Columbus and the Columbus Area Visitors Center, with additional support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
