More About Raga and Music Theory for Kathak Dancers, A Workshop

Deepen Your Understanding of Indian Raga and Music Theory

An exciting workshop exclusively designed for today’s student of Indian classical dance form Kathak!

Arts Without Borders Organization, in association with Anga Kala Dance Company and Anga Kala Kathak Academy, brings to the Kathak dancers of Pittsburgh a wonderful opportunity to enrich and expand their understanding as a Kathak dancer. This in-person workshop will familiarize dancers with the nuances of Indian classical music, as facilitated by Indian music composer, producer, musician and teacher Mr. Rushi Vakil. Learn through graphical illustrations and pre-recorded audio/video demonstrations the concepts and interesting theories that shape the world of Indian classical music and dance. Our interactive session with live exercises will help you gain insights into the fundamental structure of this performing art and get practical implementation in the same, opening up many new possibilities for you to explore as a student and artist.
