More About Alex's Lemonade Stand 5k

Alex Scott was seven years old when Cancer took her life in 2004. In those seven years, she displayed the courage and grace that most of us spend a lifetime aspiring to. Instead of allowing her illness to define her, she chose to be remembered for something much more. Despite cancer denying her ability for normal everyday activities, Alex embarked on a mission that touched the lives of millions making impactful change for children suffering from this terrible disease.

Northwestern Mutual has chosen to carry the torch so boldly lit by Alex. Since 2012, through our partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $8,000,000, funded 65,000 hours of research, and assisted 5,000 children, and engaged with 76 hospitals. Our mission continues with our first annual "Alex's Lemonade Stand 5k" being held at The Lake County Fair Grounds on May 9th at 8:00 am.
