Poetry Night at Raue Center

Poetry Night at Raue Center

More About Poetry Night at Raue Center

Poetry Night, hosted by Raue Center’s Poet-in-Residence, is a late night excursion into the written word and an opportunity for anyone in the room to become a beatnik emboldened to sing songs or pen poems that delight and excite! Come out to see big names in poetry and your local favorites read, rhyme, sing, speak and perform their work.

Coffee, wine, and beer will be available at Raue Center’s Café bar. So whether you perform yourself or just listen, grab a drink and prepare to learn, ask questions and be delighted!

This season’s Poet-in-Residence is Egan Click. Egan is a 27-year-old poet born and raised in Wonder Lake, IL. Egan’s love for all things art was formed at a young age thanks to his father, who was the art teacher at Harrison Elementary School. He started writing song lyrics in his adolescence, which brought him to poetry in his late teens. Egan attended Columbia College of Chicago and graduated with High Honors in fiction writing. He primarily writes free verse poetry relating to the emotional whirl of everyday living.
