The Allegany A*STAR 4-H Robotics Club will be offering a new robotics program called the Gold Star Club for children with special needs beginning on Tuesday, February 27 from 6:00 to 7:00PM in the LaVale Library Community Room. Currently scheduled meeting dates are February 27, March 13, March 27, April 10 and April 24. The program is intended for children ages 8 to 18. Students will explore either Lego WeDo or Lego Mindstorm technologies depending on each student’s interests and abilities.

“A*Star Club” members, along with UME Youth Educator Jessica Mellon, will mentor and instruct the new students. The “A-Star Club” is an award-winning organization that has competed nationally and has been recognized for their robotics and engineering achievements.

This class is free and open to the public but registration is required. All supplies are provided by the University of Maryland Extension office. If your child requires special assistance to participate in this program, please let the Extension office know when you register.
