Lock House on the C&O Canal

Lock House on the C&O Canal

More About Lock House on the C&O Canal

Lock 75 was originally built in 1839-1840, but our story will begin in 1909 with a photograph of the lock in operation. The George A. Keefer family arrived at the lock in 1916 and he remained the last lockkeeper until 1924 when the Canal closed forever. William Bauman will present photographs telling the stories of the Keefer family and the reconstruction of the lock in 1978.
