More About Valley Shakespeare Festival Gala Banquet

HEAR YE! HEAR YE! YOU’RE INVITED!

Grab your crown, tiara and scepter, and dust off your farthingale! You’re invited to a Royal banquet! Join the cast of Valley Shakespeare Festival’s upcoming free outdoor summer production of “Henry VIII” for an evening of Tudor fare, frivolity and frolic on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Caloroso Eatery and Bar, 100 Center Street, Shelton.

Shelton’s very own nonprofit Small Professional Theater company invites you to help celebrate its free summer production, which will be presented at Shelton’s Veterans Memorial Riverwalk Park on July 11th through 14th, with this “Meet the Cast” fundraising event. Beginning at 6:30pm you’ll enjoy libations from the cash bar while mingling with your fellow revelers and cast members. Then at 7:00pm you’ll “tuck” into a buffet of roast beef, roasted potatoes, cavatelli and broccoli, salad, soft drinks, coffee, tea and dessert. Following the feast, from 8:00pm until 9:30pm you’ll be challenged to a contest of skill with a rousing round of Tudor Trivia!

Although not technically a “costume ball”, guests are welcome and encouraged to get into the spirit and come dressed as their favorite “royal”. A prize will be awarded to the costume determined to be the best.

Per person admission to the event is $30 Early Bird (first 20 buyers), $35 in advance, and $45 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase now at VSF’s website at click for details or by calling 203-513-9446.

Henry VIII had six wives and a habit of creatively eliminating those who displeased him, so don’t lose your head (just ask Anne Boleyn!) and get your tickets now!

VALLEY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit professional theater company dedicated to bringing free and low cost theater to the communities of the Lower Naugatuck Valley and its environs

More About this Event Poster: Valley Shakespeare Festival

VALLEY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL is a young, dynamic nonprofit theater company based in Shelton that believes in the absolute necessity of the arts in a well-lived life. Our mission to entertain, inform, educate and enrich the cultural lives of the communities of Connecticut’s Naugatuck Valley.

To that end, we offer our productions in varying venues and formats, at little or no cost, so as to serve the most diverse audiences, helping to bring our different communities together and to start a meaningful dialogue about the challenges we all face.

We are a federally registered 501(c)3 nonprofit Small Professional Theater company (as designated by Actors Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers), employing both professional and aspiring performers from CT, NYC and across the East Coast. We have performed in libraries, schools, bars/restaurants, senior centers, homeless shelters and parks. We offer programs which range from script-in-hand adaptations to low cost tour packages (which include study guides, workshops, adapted performances and post-performance Q & A sessions) to a free full summer outdoor production. We also offer a vigorous internship program for younger students.

It is these innovative and unconventional formats, combined with its dedication to casting both seasoned and novice performers that sets Valley Shakespeare Festival apart from other Valley theatrical companies.

Helping Valley residents to learn from and appreciate our past, communicate the needs of the present, understand the challenges of our future, and promote mutual respect for all through the magic of live theater is how VALLEY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL endeavors to serve our community.
