Walking in Frontier Footsteps - Sycamore Shoals

More About Walking in Frontier Footsteps - Sycamore Shoals

Celebrate National Trails Day at Sycamore Shoals! Join park interpretive staff for a special guided walk along a portion of the Overmountain Victory Trail which runs through Sycamore Shoals on Saturday, June 2. Walk through the park and along the river to the sacred historical River Crossing of the Overmountain Men and the hallowed Muster Grounds as we explore the impacts of our frontier ancestors on our local and national history. The Overmountain Victory Trail helps to preserve the history and memory of the patriots who won the Battle of Kings Mountain during the American Revolution.

Dress appropriately for the weather as we will be taking a casual stroll on the walking path and through the park grounds. Meet at the Overmountain Man statue in front of the Visitor Center, hike will begin at 8:30 am. Please no pets. Hike is subject to cancellation due to significantly inclement weather. Contact the park for more information.
