Spaghetti Feed and Carnival

More About Spaghetti Feed and Carnival

Oodles of noodles and games for the kids - plus raffles, bar and live music for the adults. Project RIDE's Spaghetti Feed has it all! An inexpensive night out for the family while benefiting a great nonprofit, this event has a 30-year history in the Elk Grove community.
The children will enjoy photo ops with roaming superheroes, superhero-themed carnival games and prizes, arts and craft activities and our one of a kind, kids-only raffle featuring a grand prize of an overnight stay at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Mom and Dad will love the items in our regular raffle along with a full no-host bar, a very special talent and fashion show featuring the students of Jessie Baker School, a special needs dance performance, and live music from Shawn Wrangler, singer/songwriter and guitarist. Plus, a chance to win a week's timeshare vacation in Lake Tahoe!
And of course, there's the food. Red Oak BBQ presents a hearty dinner of pasta with meat sauce, salad, and incredible fresh-grilled garlic bread plus dessert.
Outside alcohol is prohibited. Special accommodations must be requested in advance. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 children 4-12, and children 3 and under are FREE. Purchase tickets at click for details

More About this Event Poster: Project RIDE Inc.

Project R.I.D.E. offers therapeutic recreational horseback riding instruction to over 500 riders with disabilities. Our goal is to improve physical, emotional and social functioning through participation in a highly structured and safe program. Riders’ interaction with carefully selected and trained horses improves their balance, posture, flexibility, sensory awareness and endurance in addition to increasing confidence, self-esteem, self-discipline, motivation, attention span and integration with non-disabled peers.

There is a magic that occurs between horse and rider, forming a very strong bond, especially when the rider is in any way limited. For people with impaired mobility, horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves their bodies in a manner similar to a human walking gait. Riders with learning or mental disabilities are motivated by the interaction with their horses to concentrate more and develop patience and discipline. People with psychological, physical or emotional challenges have the special opportunity to form unconditional, meaningful relationships with the volunteers, their peers and the horses.

In addition to riding, we offer unmounted programs including our Horse Club and Equicizer. Please contact us to inquire about any of our equine-assisted programs at (916) 685-7433.
Ride With Us!

Are you eligible to ride? If you are age 3 or older and have any kind of diagnosed special need or disability, we may be able to serve you. Please note that our weight limit is 175 to ensure the safety of our riders and volunteers.

This non-mounted program held on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm is available to anyone with special needs, but priority is given to participants who may not be able to participate in our mounted program for health or weight reasons. We will be doing arts and crafts, grooming and bathing horses, and working on social skills with a team of specially trained volunteers assisting. This program is ongoing and fees are $100 monthly. Please contact us today to find out about the availability of our riding lessons or our unmounted programs.

The Project R.I.D.E. program is a unique experience for everyone – riders, volunteers, staff and community friends. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged any time. Please contact us to arrange a tour of our facility and demonstration of our riding lessons.
