More About HYMN PLAYING WORKSHOP FOR ORGANISTS
Robert McCormick, concert organist and the newly appointed Organist and Choirmaster of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia, will lead a workshop for organists in the art of hymn playing.
A workshop for both full-time and part-time organists, both professional and beginner, will teach the fundamentals of good hymn playing, with suggestions for varying registrations, improvisation, and reharmonization. Everyone will come away with ideas to put to use when they are playing!
There is no charge for attending this workshop, presented by the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Organists who play both pipe organs and digital organs will benefit.
Plenty of free parking! Refreshments at 9:00 a.m. and workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Find us on Facebook or at harrisburgago.org.
