Saint-Sauvant is a village located in western France in the Department of Charente-Maritime. Saint-Sauvant is located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The village is located in the Charente Valley, between the two towns of Saintes and Cognac and is located about 10 km east of Saintes and 15 km west of Cognac. Saint-Sauvant is 50 miles east of La Rochelle.

The village has 514 inhabitants (2007). In 1946, the village had 361 inhabitants, which in 1975 had increased to 464 inhabitants.
Its inhabitants are called in French Saint-Sylvanaises (f) and Saint-Sylvanais (m).
