More About The Lions Of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis - Second Saturday Readers @ Lake Villa District Library

LVDL's monthly book discussion that meets on the second Saturday of each month. Copies of the book, The Lions Of Fifth Avenue, are available at the Circulation Desk.

This month’s title is The Lions Of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis.

When Laura Lyons applies to the Columbia Journalism School in 1913, she discovers the Heterodoxy Club -- a radical, all-female group in which women are encouraged to share their opinions on suffrage, birth control, and women's rights. Laura finds herself questioning her role as wife and mother. Eighty years later, in 1993, Sadie Donovan struggles with her grandmother’s legacy, the famous essayist Laura Lyons, especially after she's wrangled her dream job at the New York Public Library. The job quickly becomes a nightmare when rare manuscripts, notes, and books for the exhibit Sadie's running begin disappearing. Things become personal when the investigation leads Sadie to some unwelcome truths about her own family heritage -- truths that shed new light on the biggest tragedy in the library's history.

Copies of the print book will be available at the Circulation Desk.
