More About Next to Normal

Next to Normal, a Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning musical, is co-presented by Acting Out For Good and Embassy Theatre.

From the outside, the Goodmans appear to be a perfect, loving, suburban family. But, Diana has been battling mental illnesses for nearly her entire 19-year-marriage to Dan, spanning the lives of their children, the all-American son Gabe and overachieving daughter Natalie.

Diana's condition causes strain in the family unit as she visits doctor after doctor, while Dan tries his best to keep the family stable - as their children navigate their crucial teenage years with a mother who can't always be there for them.

When Natalie begins to date her classmate Henry, her life begins to spiral out of control, as well. What results is a tale that is alternately gripping, humorous, and heart-wrenching, of people just like all of us, who realize that although being "normal" might be impossible, being "next to normal" would be okay.

Next to Normal is directed by Jaiden Courrier, with music direction by Laura Groves and choreography by Jill Keith.
Admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors/students.

PLEASE NOTE: Music Theatre International rates Next to Normal PG-13 for language and content.
