More About Floating is Medicine

It's that simple.

Float therapy isn't just a thing you do to relax. It's not just about feeling weightless. It's not just quiet time.

It's medicine. It's small moments of healing that lead to big feelings of relief.

Stress medicine.
Anxiety medicine.
Pain medicine.

Floating is medicine.

Float Sixty is a modern wellness studio offering float and cryotherapy in Northwest Indiana!

We often talk about the stress and anxiety-relieving benefits of floating, but here are five physical reasons our guests tell us they love floating.

1️⃣ Magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) is long proven to relieve inflammation and pain in the body. We add around 1000 pounds to our float cabins, tanks, and pods, so it's much more powerful than a bath at home.
2️⃣ Many professional and lifestyle athletes use floating to help them recover faster from training, as well as injuries.
3️⃣ Countless people who battle insomnia, poor sleep quality, or restless nights find float therapy to be extremely effective in helping them sleep well the night they float and usually many days after. A consistent float practice provides even longer-lasting results.
4️⃣ Deep states of relaxation may help you overcome chronic sleep symptoms and side effects, including high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
5️⃣ You'll very likely notice a softness to your skin after your float session. It nourishes the skin and heals wounds and irritation.

More About Float Sixty South Shore

Float Sixty is a Modern Wellness Concept with locations serving Chicago and Northwest Indiana. A place to relax and take care of your well-being. Sleep better, destress and soothe your muscles in a zero gravity environment.

Formerly Theta State, Float Sixty South Shore offers two spacious float cabins with optional light and music. We recently added localized electric cryotherapy, cryofacials and infrared sauna and we have a cold plunge tank coming soon!

Floating is a relaxation practice that is unlike anything else. Imagine your body is weightless with zero-gravity. You are completely buoyant -floating without trying in approximately 10-11 inches of perfectly warmed water. The silky salty solution is 1,000+ pounds of magnesium sulfate, otherwise known as Epsom Salts. Float 60 or 90 minutes - some like it even longer! The temperature of the water is set to about 93-94 degrees, the body's external skin temperature. You are in a pristine, highly controlled environment with as much sound and light reduction as possible. Float Sixty offers float cabins, pods, or the traditional floatation tank aka sensory deprivation tank in a modern wellness studio environment. No woo woo or foo foo here - we are just serious about floating and making it accessible to everyone.

The benefits of floatation therapy in float tanks are plentiful and can differ from person-to-person or session-to-session depending on the circumstances of the individual at the time of the float. Some experienced floaters say that each and every float is unique. This page lists the benefits that one may gain from floating on a regular cadence. Floating is great for reducing stress. Epsom salts are great for relaxing the body and aching muscles.
