More About Swing Dancing to a Live Band
The Cocuzzi Courtet is returning to our stage on June 2nd. John Cocuzzi has been playing the Midtown Stomp stage since our days at the YWCA years ago when he was a special guest with the Fulton Street Jazz Band. He’s also pounded the 88s with Stompy Jones and has traveled the world playing early Jazz, Swing, and Blues music. Helping lead this crazy fun band is Kristy Cocuzz. She is simply awesome on the saxophone. Kristy has played with Big Tiny Little and toured the country playing with some incredible names in jazz.
Never been swing dancing before? Do you have two left feet? Do you think you lack rhythm? That's no problem at all for us. At 8:00 pm we'll teach you the steps you need to know to have a good time. It's even included in the cost of admission.
No partner? No problem. Our classes are social and rotate partners and you'll meet a ton of cool, new people. Do you have a partner and only want to dance with them? That's cool with us too. When the class rotates just stay with your favorite person.
