More About Book Bedford County, ~ Two and One-Half Centuries in the Making

The Bedford County Historical Society is pleased to announce the publication of Bedford County, Pennsylvania ~ Two and One-Half Centuries in the Making. This new publication is the first 'history book' detailing the history of the entire county and containing completely new text since the 1884 publication by Waterman, Watkins and Company.

The book, consisting of over 1,000 pages, will be bound in two volumes for easier handling. All copies will be hard-bound and Smyth-sewn (a process in which groups of folded pages are stitched together with binder thread rather than being simply glued) making them durable and able to be laid flat without the spine breaking. The quality binding, coupled with being bound in two volumes, will ensure that your copy will stand up to normal use for many years.

Bedford County, Pennsylvania ~ Two and One-Half Centuries in the Making will be a book that you will be able ~ and proud ~ to pass on to your children and they to your grandchildren.

The book, Bedford County, Pennsylvania ~ Two and One-Half Centuries in the Making will be available at the pre-publication sale price of $115 (plus tax) for Bedford County Historical Society members and $120 (plus tax) for non-members. Pre-publication orders will be received until the end of September. Beginning October 1, the price may increase, so you might want to purchase a copy (or multiple copies to give as gifts) as soon as possible.

You might also consider purchasing a copy to donate to your local library or school.

Send your order request (with payment by check or money order) to Bedford County Historical Society, 6441 Lincoln Highway, Bedford, PA 15522 ~or~ place your order using your credit card on the BCHS website at bedfordpahistory.com (click on the 'Donate' button and fill in the field labeled 'My donation is for:' with "250 book").
