More About Mixed Media and Collage with Resident Artist Remy Sosa
Collage is an art process in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric, and other material are arranged and stuck onto a supporting surface. Collage can also include other media such as painting and drawing and even contain three-dimensional elements. The real beauty of collage is that it is a unique and experimental way to combine mediums. The vibrancy of multiple textures and designs can be playful and capture the eye in an aesthetically pleasing manner. This class is meant to open the door into the mind of the artist. Each week, we will focus on unique and varying mediums with a set goal for the day. At the end of the semester, you will have made a poster with the subject of your choice. We will study eclectic and diverse artists like Huw Griffith, Nina Chanel Abney, and Tschabalala Self. This class is open to all levels, from beginner to experienced. Your final art will be included in a public exhibition at The Norwalk Art Space in the Spring! It will also make a perfect portfolio piece.
