Fairfield's Earth Day Clean-up

Fairfield's Earth Day Clean-up

More About Fairfield's Earth Day Clean-up

In celebration of Earth Day which is April 22"d, Fairfield-based non-profit Humanity Now will sponsor a town-wide clean-up. Students, residents, and community groups will work together, picking up trash on public areas such as beaches, athletic fields, parks and underpasses in Fairfield.

Humanity Now is seeking volunteers from the community to adopt pre-designated areas or join existing

groups of volunteers. Work gloves are recommended and trash bags will be provided by the town.

Team Captains and individuals will meet at 8:00 in the downtown train station parking lot on the southbound side to collect bags and instructions.

During the clean-up,Humanity Now will also be raising awareness and collecting donations to support bringing clean water to underdeveloped countries. Proceeds from the recycling of bottles and cans at area supermarkets will be collected on April 22"d during the clean-up by team leaders. Proceeds from the 2017 clean-up helped provide 70 million gallons of clean drinking water to people in Ecuador, Haiti and Puerto Rico.
