Call for photographers for Fort Ashby Library’s Annual Photography Contest:
Area photographers are invited to enter their favorite photos in either of two categories, “Fruits & Vegetables” or “Open” in the Friends of Fort Ashby Library’s annual photography contest, scheduled for August 17-24, 2019. There will be prizes in both color and black & white categories and in each division, Adults (ages 19 and up) and Juniors (ages 18 and under). The contest is limited to 3 photos per person and must not have been previously shown in the library’s contests.
Photos must be suitable for display, either framed with wire hanger or matted with a maximum print size of 11”x14” and Maximum framed size of 16”x20”. No photos of pets or specific people are allowed. Any people included in photos must not be identifiable, such as in silhouette or by the water or skyline.
Entries will be received on Friday, August 16 from 12 pm to 5pm and on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 am to noon. Entry fees are $4 per each adult photo submission and $3 per each junior photo submission. Signature of ownership should be placed on the back of the photo to avoid interfering with judging.
Photos will be displayed at the library from Aug. 17-24. Entries may be offered for sale with a 10% commission to the Fort Ashby Public Library.
