More About Water Heater Talk

The Insinkerator "boiling water tap" is a kitchen sink hot water dispenser that delivers piping hot, filtered water for instant beverages. Insinkerator also manufactures a hot water dispenser, called the “UltraSystem”, which provides hot water at the bathroom sink. Both systems include a specially designed faucet, and a 2/3 gallon under sink water heater.

Insinkerator Kitchen Sink Instant Hot Water Dispenser

The kitchen sink unit consists of a stylishly designed dispensing faucet that is mounted on the edge of the sink, and an electric tank water heater and optional water filter that are installed under the sink.

Water from the main cold water supply line first passes through a special filter. Insinkerator offers two types of filter. The first type removes the chlorine from the water. The second type of filter also removes lead, mercury, asbestos, cysts and other chemicals.

After filtration, the water enters a stainless steel water heater, that heats it to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. As water in the tank is used, it is replaced by more filtered water. This small under the sink water heater has a very fast recovery time, and can provide 60 cups of 200 degree water every hour. On the front of the tank there is a temperature adjustment dial. By turning the dial you can adjust the water temperature anywhere between 150 and 210 degrees Fahrenheit.

When the hot water lever on the dispenser is pulled, hot water is instantly dispensed. Some dispensers have a cold water lever as well. This lever will dispense cool, freshly filtered drinking water, or chilled water if you choose to install an under sink chiller.

Insinkerator hot water dispenser models come in a wide variety of stylishly designed dispenser faucets. All faucets are made of brass, but come in several finishes including: chrome, bronze, nickel, gold, black, white, biscuit and almond. The overall dispenser designs vary from ornate Victorian, to country and contemporary styles. In most models, water flow is activated with elegant levers, but some models have twist-style handles.

Depending on the model, Insinkerator offers either a 3 year or a 5 year warranty. If you have a problem with your unit within the warranty period, you simply call Insinkerator and they will dispatch a technician, who will service your dispenser in your home.

The price of Insinkerator instant hot water dispenser models varies widely between $150 and $680, with most models falling in the $150 to $400 price range .

Insinkerator offers several accessories, and Insinkerator parts are widely available online and offline.

The UltraSystem hot water dispenser unit consists of a chrome bathroom sink faucet, and an under sink electric tank water heater.

The faucet mixes 200 degree Fahrenheit water from the hot water tank, with cold water from the main water supply line. By blending hot and cold water, the faucet is able to deliver 110 degree Fahrenheit water for washing hands or a general clean up.

The heating unit consists of a 2/3 gallon stainless steel tank with a thermostat that can be adjusted between 160 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit. With its tool free pipe connections, the water heater is very easy to install, and it only requires a standard 120V electrical power supply.
