Bruce Museum to host Conservation Conversation: Panel Discussion

More About Bruce Museum to host Conservation Conversation: Panel Discussion

In conjunction with the traveling exhibition “National Geographic Photo Ark,” the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT is hosting a panel discussion, “Conservation Conversation: A Live, Interactive Discussion,” on Tuesday, June 26 with a reception from 6:00-6:30pm preceding the discussion, 6:30-8:00pm. The discussion will feature a diverse array of conservation experts, including Dara Reid (Director of Wildlife in Crisis), Gregg Dancho (Director of Beardsley Zoo), and Tim Walsh (Bruce Museum’s turtle conservation expert).

This discussion will raise vital questions about the impact of zoo breeding programs on endangered species, how to stop the trafficking of endangered species across the planet, and how individuals can make a difference in the fate of Connecticut’s own endangered species. This conversation will be mostly driven by audience questions, so come with an inquisitive mind.
‘Conservation Conversation’ is designed to promote discussion about wildlife conservation relevant to the Bruce Museum’s summer exhibition, “National Geographic Photo Ark,” which is open for viewing from June 2 through September 2. This exhibition will feature 50 photographs selected from the ambitious work of National Geographic photographer and Fellow Joel Sartore, in what will be the largest archive of studio-quality photography of wildlife ever.

In tandem with the exhibition “National Geographic Photo Ark,” the panel discussion “Conservation Conversation” aims to promote active measures to aid endangered species among viewers and foster pride in the world’s beautiful, diverse set of species.

Light refreshments will be served during the reception, which will be held in the lecture gallery. Advance sales on brucemuseum.org will be $15 for nonmembers and free for members and students with ID. At the door, admission will be $25 for nonmembers, and $10 for members. The Museum will start receiving visitors at 6:20pm.
