SHS Drive Through Graduation

SHS Drive Through Graduation

More About SHS Drive Through Graduation

On Saturday, May 23, we will provide a drive-through graduation opportunity where students will be able to exit their vehicle, walk across an outdoor stage, and
receive their diploma. Students will meet in the West Parking lot (bus lot) to drop off their Chromebook. (Chromebooks must be turned in to participate in the
graduation ceremony. If Chromebooks are lost, the Chromebook fee will need to be paid.) Groups of cars will then be sent east down Banta Road to enter the
East Parking lot (student parking lot). We have put together a schedule for our families to have a specific time frame for their arrival and graduation. It is
paramount that our families follow this schedule so we can move through the day efficiently. In the East Parking lot, students will receive additional graduation
materials such as individual cords, stoles, or tassels they have earned at SHS. After picking up these items, vehicles will pull up in front of the auditorium. We
will have a stage set up in front of the auditorium. Students only will be able to exit the vehicle, walk across the stage, receive their diploma from Mr. Knight, and
then will return to their vehicle. Parents will need to stay in their vehicle, but the stage will be easily visible from your vehicle. Each senior family will only be
permitted one vehicle in this line. We are also working with Lifetouch to try to have a professional photographer available who will take pictures as students walk
across the stage. After students are back in the vehicle, they will exit the east parking lot on Shelby Street. As you exit the parking lot, there will be a station set
up by the baseball fields to purchase a yearbook if you have not done so already. We encourage students to wear their caps and gowns for this ceremony!

Thank you for your understanding in this process. Again, we believe this provides our graduates with the well-deserved opportunity to participate in a ceremony
while following Health Department guidelines that will keep our families and staff safe during the process. If you are not interested in all the fanfare on May
23rd, families can stop by the school on May 26th at Door 1 from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm to pick up your diploma.

The student graduation schedule and maps for the process are attached to this message. Again, our families must follow this schedule so the day can flow

Thank you! As always, Go Cards!
