Valparaiso University is currently hiring for a variety of positions, including Housekeeper I and II, General Technician II, Heating and Cooling Tech I, and Landscape Tech II.
POSITIONS
HOUSEKEEPER I (Full-time) – Monday - Friday 4:00am - 12:00pm
These positions are responsible for providing a clean, healthy, and well-maintained area of assignment and will perform manual work in a variety of cleaning duties in and around university buildings and facilities.
• Perform cleaning duties in areas as assigned, such as washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, showers, and restocking dispensers, straightening, dusting, wiping surfaces, vacuuming /sweeping, mopping, and floors, cleaning white/chalk boards, washing windows, washing walls, wash/wipe down trash cans, take out trash, etc.
• Unlock/lock buildings
• Provide exceptional customer service

HEATING AND COOLING SERVICE TECHNICIAN I (Full Time) – Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
The position is responsible for performing complete maintenance, operation, service and repairs to a wide variety of complex commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air-handlers, heat pumps, circulation pumps, cooling coils and refrigeration equipment.

The position will perform maintenance duties with the responsibility for the appearance and general care of all aspects of University grounds including but not limited to parking lots, roads, walkways, exterior signage, snow removal, salt spreading, plantings, mowing, and trash pick-up. In addition, this position will perform any one of the specialty tasks as it pertains to the facilities management department.
