More About Against the Tide, MBCC - Hopkinton State Park

Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) will be holding its annual, statewide Against the Tide multi-sport events again in 2019. Set against the backdrop of two beautiful state parks, Against the Tide offers something for all outdoor enthusiasts. Participants can enjoy pristine beaches and water locales for the half-mile paddleboard, competitive one-mile swim, one-mile and half-mile recreational swims, and two-mile kayak events, as well as tree-lined rolling paved courses for both the USATF certified 5K and 10K runs, and the three-mile fitness walk. All ages and abilities are welcome to choose from up to four of these exciting activities. The event also offers an Aquathon “Splash and Dash” component, where participants “splash” in the competitive one-mile swim and immediately “dash” in 5K or 10K run (distance chosen by the participant).

Participants may register as an individual or as part of a team. Registration is $40 per adult per event activity and $25 per student per event activity. Participants are encouraged to fundraise beyond these suggested minimums, as all proceeds support Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s unique goal towards breast cancer prevention. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest swim, run, and Aquathon athletes, top age-group finishers, and top fundraisers.

The statewide Metro-Boston Against the Tide will be held for the 27th year at DCR's Hopkinton State Park on Saturday, June 15, 2019. The statewide Cape Cod Against the Tide will be held for the 20th year at DCR's Nickerson State Park on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Both events start at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 noon.
