More About Fall into Nature 2020: Discover Bath Nature Preserve - All of October

Bath Township, the University of Akron Field Station, and the Bath Park Board will once again celebrate the beauty and bounty of the fall season with their annual Fall into Nature celebration in the Bath Nature Preserve located at 4160 Ira Road.

For the safety of visitors during COVID-19, Fall into Nature 2020 will follow a different format than in previous years while still providing a fun, interactive, and educational event for individuals, families and small groups following social distancing guidelines.

During the month of October visitors will find a Bath Nature Preserve Discovery Trails exploration card online at BathTownship.org, on the Visit Bath Parks FaceBook page, at the Ira Road Trailhead kiosk, at Bath Community Park under the tunnel leading to the Bath Nature Preserve, and at the UA Field Station kiosk. Visitors will use the card to identify 25 signs featuring a photo of flora or fauna and an interesting fact relating to the photo. The signs will be posted in the Bath Nature Preserve along North Fork Trail, the Bridle Trail, on Hickory Lane (the road to the field station), and at the Bath Pond floating deck. Visitors are challenged to find as many of the 25 signs as they can.

The Discovery Trails can be completed in one day, over several days, or multiple times during regular park hours, in accordance with park rules; leashed dogs are welcome. Selfies can be taken along the way, at the photo opportunity spot near the UA field station, or with scarecrows outfitted by local nonprofits and businesses found on the trails and in the park. Photos are encouraged to be shared on this Facebook event site.

Once the Discovery Trails have been explored visitors can add their name, address, age and optional email address to the back of the card and deposit it in a specially designated box at the UA field station. A small prize will be mailed to each participant
